Puerto Rico Birth Certificates Reissued

A new law adopted in Puerto Rico to combat identity fraud will require everyone born in Puerto Rico to apply for a new birth certificate. The law, which takes affect on July 1, will invalidate all current birth certificates on that date. Those who were born in Puerto Rico but reside elsewhere may obtain a new birth certificate by filling out a Birth Certificate Application form from Puerto Rico Vital Statistics. Dial 2-1-1 or click here for more information.
